This just proves that middle America knows little to nothing about technology other than name recognition. My friend in retail tells me how more than half the hd-dvd's sold are returned because people assume they play in their regular dvd players. They think if they have an Hdtv and buy an hd-dvd movie they're good to go. Lol.
This is why I hate blogs disguised as news sites. They can't just report news. They feel the need to report the stupidest sh!t.
Most average consumers are like sheep. You tell them something is really hot, in demand and hard to find & they will want it. Simple as that.
Does it really matter which has the best picture when in less than a year you wont be able to buy any new discs for it, only what is already on the market?
It was a forum post. They are supposedly not allowed. But for some reason the negative Sony ones always gets approved.
Edit:
This story failed. Ooooh, what a surprise.
As opposed to the news that got approved on here of a forum post about Sony charging $120 for a broken face plate?
Talk about being a hypocrite.

The user on the forums who claims Sony is charging him wrote this back in OCT:
"okay, I sent my PSP to sony 5 hours ago. Let's see how much sony gonna make me pay for incipient failure. I bet $ony needs money to cover up loss from PS3. If they ever make me a phone call and say..."
In the title he clearly states that his PSP is ...
So, your usb just stopped working out of the blue? Right.
Oh come on.
He can't tell the difference between 720 and 480?
Also, he stated that from "what he read" you needed a big screen to see the difference bewtween 720 and 1080. If he was a true videophile, he wouldn't be talking about what he read. He would know.
My dad and this guy are probably on the same knowledge level.
<b>"We compared an HD broadcast signal for a sporting event (which was 720i, I believe) to one of his DVDs played back through his high-end standard DVD player, and I would be hard pressed to point out the quality differences.
Granted, this wasn’t pushing the HD envelope. Modern HD TVs support 1080p, and HD discs top out at that resolution as well. From what I’ve read, however, you need a quite large HD screen to see the difference between 720p and 1080p, certainly w...
If Don Lindich can have his biased opinion posted as news, I see no reason why I shouldn't approve this.
Hd-dvd, give up already. It's over.
1080i FTL
Has anyone wondered why there are hardly any "Why Blu-ray beats hd-dvd" news posts?
The answer is because there is only a format war in hd-dvd supporters minds.
They are desperately trying to convince the world that hd-dvd is still alive and are winning.
I mean the last 4 or 5 pro hd-dvd articles have all been by the same guy, Don Lindich. You've got ONE supporter, LMAO !
Really? That's weird cause in this thread you stated that your Blu-rays looked worse than dvd's.

Get your story straight.
How the F did this crap get posted? Whats the point of allowing people to report things if it gets posted anyway? This had a billion reports.
Anyway, the key thing that should be focused on in this sea of old information is:
"600,000 HD-DVD players in place, and 400,000 Blu-Ray units (all stand-alone) by the end of this year."
That's not including the 7 million PS3's that are in people's homes.
If you deem it newsworthy when the uninformed amazon voters choose an inferior hd-dvd player over Blu-ray for the special sale, then this is just as newsworthy.
She is really giving girl gamers a bad name. She plays right into the stereotype; stupid, doesn't really know anything about games and is doing it because she's an attention wh0re.
Your name speaks for itself. At least the first part of it.
LMFAO at your rhetoric.
